Tutorial: Colouring the sea

Passion for ProMarkers – DT Project for Challenge #133, theme “recycle”. 

Welcome to another Letraset colouring tutorial, kindly provided by Maya! This tutorial will cover the colouring of sea using ProMarkers & FlexMarkers. 

Step 1. Today we’ll be working with True Blue, Sapphire, Agean, Surf Blue, Cool Aqua & Sea Mist.

Step 2. As usual I work in sections, here I start with the middle wave.

At the bottom where you would expect the waves to be darkest, I start roughly colouring with True Blue.
 

Step 3. I then go over the True Blue using Sapphire.

Step 4. Using Agean, I colour over the top of the previous colours and continue up a little way further into the white areas.

Step 5. Over all of the previous colours, I then use surf blue.

Step 6. To finish off, I use cool Aqua all over the previous colours and to fill any remaining white.

Next we just repeat the previous steps on the other sections of the sea.

 Step 12. Use exactly the same technique to colour the rest of the sea. Once the sea was completed, I used Sea Mist to add some extra dots to add extra interest and texture.

Continue to colour the rest of the image as usual and complete your card!
