Live the life you’ve imagined

Thank you for all the comments about my last tag featuring the white embossing and promarker colouring, this time I’m keeping with the grungy style but working with Letraset Inks and Aquamarkers…

To make the layered butterfly I randomly stuck the tissue tape to a piece of card then die cut the solid wings from this and the veined wings and body from the gold card

Using a blending tool and some felt, I coloured the tissue tape pieces with Letraset Inks

While these pieces dry, I coloured the tag with aquamarkers. As they are water based, I scribbled various colours onto a piece of plastic/acrylic – then spritzed with water allowing the colours to mix and blend, then dragged the tag through the colours several times until I was happy with the effect (you can dry each layer of colour with a heat tool)

I then “inked” up the grass stamp with Aquarmarkers and stamped along the base of the tag, and added the sentiment in the same way

Time to add the butterfly – I adhered the solid wings and body to the tag, then just adhered one end of the veined wings to create a 3d effect

To finish off I scribbled more Aquamarkers onto plastic, spritzed with water and used to colour some seam binding to tie at the top of the tag

And here’s the finished tag
